Support the Ralph Waldo Emerson House
The Emerson House has not had a completely new roof since the house was built in 1828. The time has come when it must be replaced. All donations will be applied to paying for this vital improvement. Thank you!
A man builds a fine house; and now he has a master, and a task for life: he is to furnish, watch, show it, and keep it in repair, the rest of his days.
It is our mission to continue the legacy of Ralph Waldo Emerson's life and ideas. Maintaining and sharing the Emerson home and grounds with the public is an important part of our purpose. We are asking for your help to support our mission in caring for this important historic home. The Ralph Waldo Emerson house captures a very important period of history, containing Emerson’s original furniture and objects, much as he left it. The square white house saw the comings and goings of many of the American literary and intellectual figures of the 19th century. You can contribute to our mission with your donation. No amount is too small to help.
